June 23, 1954 ~ September 16, 2012 (age 58) 58 Years Old
Age 58, died September 16, 2012, after a lengthy battle with breast cancer.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Rosina Escudero, sister Becky Archuleta, brothers Jimmy Jr. and Tommy Escudero, and nieces, Yvonne Rivera and Sharon Archuleta.
She is survived by her partner of 16 years, Patricia Thaxton, sisters Geraldine George (Sam), Marcia Carey (Bill), Bobbie Escudero and brother, Edward Archuleta; nieces, Wanda Archuleta (Matt), JoAnn Chappell (Bryan), Vicki Falance (David) and Becky Montoya; nephews, Ronald (Sandy), Anthony (Darlene) and Gerald George (Kathy), Tim Carey (Andrea) and Matt Archuleta (Liz) and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Janet attended Our Lady of Guadalupe School and graduated from St. Michael's.  She retired from CYFD as the Acting Director of Child Protective Services after 26 years.  After retirement, she worked for the Senate during the Legislative Sessions for 7 years in payroll.  She also worked at the Monica Roybal Center, Coca-Cola Bottling Co. and Tri-Core Courier Services during her life.  She enjoyed playing softball, volleyball and basketball in the city leagues, held a brown belt in karate and enjoyed fishing.
She volunteered and worked for Special Olympics and served in several ministries at Santa Maria De La Paz Catholic Community where she was a parishioner.
A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, September 19th at 7:00 pm, at Santa Maria De La Paz Catholic Community, 11 College Ave.  Funeral services will be held at the same church on the following day at 10 am with burial to follow at Rosario Cemetery.
